Around half of our body’s dry weight is made up of protein. Protein forms the basis of our brain cells, muscles, organs, skin, hair, nails, hormones, enzymes, and more.
Proteins are made up of chains of smaller building blocks called amino acids. Some amino acids can be made by the human body (non-essential amino acids), while others must be supplied through our diet (essential amino acids).
Amino acids are needed for building new proteins, forming compounds like neurotransmitters (e.g., serotonin) and hormones (e.g., adrenalin), and energy.
Goat milk is naturally high in the essential amino acid L-arginine, and the powerful antioxidant L-glutathione (comprised of three amino acids-L-cysteine, glycine, and L-glutamate), which also plays a key role in breaking down nutrients and regulating many biological processes, including immune response.

Goats are very similar to humans (and much more like humans than cows)
Did you know that goats are anatomically and physiologically very similar to humans?
For example, at birth a goat weighs about 9 pounds (4 kg) and grows to be about 120-150 pounds (54-68 kg). Large goats grow to be 200 pounds (90 kg). Sound familiar?
In comparison, a cow is a very large animal that at birth is about 100 pounds (45 kg) and grows to 1200 pounds (544 kg) or more.
In fact, many medical schools in the USA and around the world use goats to train their students due to their similarities with us.

Why is this important?
Milk from different mammals have different compositions, and our human bodies tolerate these compositions differently.
Given how vital protein is for the human body, the quality of the protein we consume, and our body’s ability to process it, is extremely important.
Most protein products on the market are made from cow milk. However, it is nearly impossible for the human body to fully digest and assimilate protein from a cow to use for energy, muscle building and performance without stimulants being added to the protein.
Since goat and human digestive systems are so similar, we can process foods made from goat milk much more easily than milk from any other species
Cow milk creates an inflammatory response in the human body. Many people are lactose intolerant, but typically goat milk is far better tolerated due to less lactose and less than Alpha S-1 Casein, than cow’s milk. Goat protein is well worth trying if you have experienced negative reactions to cow milk.
